Full-Chip JLR Mongoose Interface

This is a full-chip version of the JLR Mongoose interface and supports the communication protocols required by compatible Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles.

Vehicle Coverage

The JLR Mongoose and SDD combination is intended primarily for Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles from the SDD diagnostic era, with coverage extending across many vehicles manufactured approximately between 2004 and 2017.

This does not mean that every Jaguar or Land Rover manufactured between these dates is fully supported. Diagnostic systems and communication methods changed throughout this period, particularly on later vehicles.

JLR SDD V165 Software

The interface is supplied with JLR SDD V165 diagnostic software.

SDD was Jaguar Land Rover’s diagnostic platform for vehicles of this generation and provides access to manufacturer-specific diagnostic systems, live data, testing procedures, service functions and supported vehicle configuration/programming procedures.

Windows Compatibility

We have tested this software on:

• Windows 7 32-bit
• Windows 10 32-bit

These are the operating systems we recommend for this software. This will not run on Windows 11.

Automotive manufacturer diagnostic software of this generation was developed around older Windows environments, so using the newest Windows operating system does not necessarily provide better compatibility.

We do not recommend using other Windows versions unless you are experienced with installing and configuring JLR diagnostic software yourself.

Software Supplied by Download

The JLR SDD software, required drivers and firmware are supplied electronically via download.

The download link will be made available after checkout and sent to the email address registered with your order.

Supplying the software electronically also removes the need for a CD/DVD drive, which is no longer fitted to many modern computers.

Important Installation Information

Please note that JLR SDD software is not remotely installed by Diagnostic Central.

The software is supplied for the customer to download and install themselves.

We also do not install this software when the interface is added to one of our complete diagnostic computer kits.

Please take this into consideration before ordering if you are not comfortable installing automotive diagnostic software yourself.

Jaguar Land Rover diagnostic systems changed considerably over the years, and later vehicles increasingly use newer diagnostic communication methods and equipment.

For this reason, the stated approximate 2004–2017 coverage should be treated as a guide rather than a guarantee that every function on every vehicle within those years will be available.
