15 Piece Spill-Free Coolant Funnel Kit

A professional 15-piece spill-free coolant filling and bleeding kit designed to make refilling automotive cooling systems cleaner, easier and more controlled.

Anyone who has refilled a cooling system knows how easily coolant can spill from the radiator or expansion tank, particularly while bleeding trapped air from the system.

This spill-free funnel kit creates an extended filling point above the vehicle’s cooling system, helping coolant replace trapped air while reducing spills and mess during filling and bleeding.

With a choice of caps and adapters, extension tubes and 45-degree elbows, the kit can be configured to fit a wide range of vehicles and reach radiator or expansion tank openings that would otherwise be difficult to access.

Built-In Shut-Off Valve

Unlike a conventional open funnel, this coolant funnel incorporates a rotary shut-off valve.

The valve allows the flow to be closed before removing the funnel from the vehicle, helping prevent the coolant remaining inside the funnel from spilling over the engine or workshop floor.

This makes the kit considerably cleaner and easier to use than filling a cooling system with an ordinary funnel.

Helps Remove Trapped Air

Trapped air within a vehicle cooling system can cause poor heater performance, incorrect coolant circulation and overheating.

The long funnel provides an elevated coolant reservoir while the engine is being bled, allowing air escaping from the cooling system to rise into the funnel while replacement coolant can flow back into the system.

This makes the kit particularly useful after:

  • Coolant changes
  • Radiator replacement
  • Water pump replacement
  • Thermostat replacement
  • Coolant hose replacement
  • Engine repairs
  • Cooling-system flushing
  • Any repair where coolant has been drained from the vehicle

Multiple Caps & Adapters

The kit contains several different caps and gasketed adapters, allowing it to be used on a wide range of vehicle cooling systems.

Select the appropriate cap and adapter for the vehicle, fit the gasket correctly and secure the assembly to the radiator or expansion tank before attaching the funnel.

Please note: This is a multi-fit kit designed to cover a wide range of vehicles. We do not claim that every adapter will fit every make and model.

Ideal for Difficult-to-Reach Filling Points

Modern engine bays can make access to the cooling system surprisingly difficult.

The kit includes two straight extension tubes and two 45-degree elbows, allowing the funnel position to be altered when the radiator cap or expansion tank is located underneath a scuttle panel, close to the bonnet or in another restricted area.

The extensions can also raise the funnel further above the cooling system, which can help when bleeding trapped air.

Reinforced Threaded Connections

The threaded adapter connections are designed to provide a secure seal when correctly assembled with the supplied gaskets.

This helps minimise leakage while the cooling system is being filled and bled.

Suitable for Professional & DIY Use

This is a useful addition to any workshop tool collection and is suitable for:

  • Professional garages
  • Mobile mechanics
  • Vehicle restoration workshops
  • Home mechanics
  • DIY servicing and maintenance

It is particularly useful for workshops carrying out regular cooling-system repairs, where using an ordinary funnel can quickly become messy and time-consuming.

Typical Uses

  • Cooling-system filling
  • Cooling-system bleeding
  • Radiator filling
  • Coolant replacement
  • Radiator flushing
  • Engine cooling-system flushing
  • Refilling after cooling-system repairs

  • 1 x Spill-free funnel with rotary shut-off valve
  • 2 x 45° elbows
  • 2 x 5-inch straight extensions
  • 1 x Large Cap A
  • 1 x Medium Cap B
  • 1 x Small Cap C
  • 1 x Threaded Cap D

How to Use the Spill-Free Coolant Funnel

  1. Select the correct adapter. Choose the appropriate cap and adapter for the vehicle’s radiator or expansion tank.
  2. Fit the gasket. Install the gasket in the correct downward-facing position and securely tighten the adapter into the cap to create a good seal.
  3. Fit extensions if required. If access is restricted, install one of the 45° elbows and/or straight extensions before fitting the funnel.
  4. Install the funnel. Securely fit the funnel into the adapter or extension assembly.
  5. Add coolant slowly. Initially fill the funnel approximately one-third full with the correct coolant for the vehicle.
  6. Bleed the cooling system. Where appropriate for the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended bleeding procedure, run the engine at idle and allow trapped air to escape into the funnel. Maintain sufficient coolant in the funnel to prevent air being drawn back into the cooling system.
  7. Monitor the coolant level carefully. The coolant level may rise as the engine warms. If the level rises excessively, switch the engine off and allow the level to fall before continuing.
  8. Close the funnel valve. Once bleeding is complete, close the rotary shut-off valve to retain the remaining coolant inside the funnel.
  9. Remove the equipment. Carefully remove the funnel, extensions and adapter as required.
  10. Refit the vehicle cap. Refit and correctly secure the vehicle’s radiator or expansion tank cap.

Important Safety Information

Never remove a radiator or expansion tank pressure cap from a hot or pressurised cooling system.

Hot coolant and steam can cause serious burns. Always allow the cooling system to cool sufficiently before removing a pressure cap or installing the funnel kit.

Always use the correct coolant specification and follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended filling and bleeding procedure. Some vehicles have specific bleeding procedures or bleed points which must be followed.

A Cleaner Way to Fill & Bleed Cooling Systems

Whether you’re replacing a radiator, changing a thermostat, fitting a water pump or simply carrying out a coolant change, this 15-piece spill-free funnel kit makes refilling and bleeding the cooling system considerably easier.

The combination of multiple adapters, extension tubes, angled elbows and the built-in shut-off valve provides a practical solution for a wide range of cars and light commercial vehicles.

Less spilled coolant, easier access and a much cleaner way to refill and bleed vehicle cooling systems.
