4. 12 Months Diagnostic Central Professional Support

This is one of the most important differences between a Diagnostic Central package and simply buying diagnostic hardware online.

Your system includes 12 months of access to our professional support team.

Our support department consists of six trained mechanics, each with a minimum of 10 years’ experience. They understand vehicles as well as diagnostic equipment, so you are speaking to people with genuine workshop experience rather than a general customer-service department.

Support hours:

• Monday to Saturday: 9:00am – 9:00pm
• Sunday: 4:00pm – 9:00pm

During your 12-month support period our team can assist with:

Intelligent System Scan (ISS)

Intelligent System Scan can scan compatible systems throughout the vehicle and display stored fault codes, giving you a quick overview of the condition of multiple control systems.

You can then select an individual system for more detailed diagnosis.

Intelligent System Identification (ISI)

Intelligent System Identification helps identify the compatible controller fitted to the vehicle and select the appropriate diagnostic parameters automatically.

Automatic VIN Identification

On supported vehicles, the diagnostic software can read the Vehicle Identification Number directly from the vehicle and use this information to help identify the correct model and vehicle configuration.

Live Data

View real-time information from compatible sensors and control modules while the vehicle is operating.

Live data is invaluable when diagnosing faults which cannot be identified from a stored fault code alone.

Flight Recorder

On supported diagnostic hardware, the flight recorder function allows vehicle parameters to be recorded during a road test.

This is particularly useful for intermittent faults which only occur under specific driving conditions.

ECU Reading, Writing & Remapping

The package also includes a separate ECU read/write and remapping interface together with supporting software.

This allows experienced users to read ECU files from supported vehicles, work with those files using the supplied software and write compatible modified files back to the ECU.

WinOLS and additional ECU-related applications are included to provide the tools required for learning and working with ECU map files.

DPF, EGR & Lambda Software

The package includes separate specialist software applications for identifying and working with relevant areas of supported ECU files, including:

• DPF-related ECU data
• EGR-related ECU data
• Lambda/O2-related ECU data

These are separate software applications rather than simply one generic program.

Important: Any modification to a vehicle’s emissions-control system must comply with the law applicable to the vehicle and its intended use. The inclusion of software capable of editing ECU files does not mean every modification is legal for use on public roads.

ECU Remapping Training & Support – Important Distinction

We provide extensive training material for ECU reading, writing and map editing, but our live 12-month support service does not include advice on modifying individual ECU maps or instructing customers what changes to make to a particular vehicle’s ECU file.

There is an important reason for this.

When assisting remotely, we cannot physically inspect the vehicle, independently verify every vehicle and ECU detail or guarantee that the information supplied to us is correct.

Incorrectly identifying an ECU, using an unsuitable file or writing incorrect data can corrupt or lock the ECU and potentially prevent the vehicle from starting.

For that reason, it would be irresponsible for us to remotely instruct a customer to make a particular ECU modification when we cannot physically verify the vehicle ourselves.

Instead, we provide approximately six hours of training material so that customers who wish to learn ECU remapping can understand the principles, software and procedures involved before carrying out this type of work.

Our normal 12-month support remains available for the diagnostic equipment, diagnostic software, general mechanical/diagnostic assistance and system troubleshooting.

Please Don’t Compare This Package With Cheap Marketplace Diagnostic Kits

Two diagnostic interfaces can look virtually identical on the outside and be completely different on the inside.

Tablet Condition

# Tablet Condition – Grade B Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1

The Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 supplied with this package is a Grade B refurbished unit.

Grade B means the tablet is fully tested and fully functional, but it may show signs of previous professional use.

Cosmetic wear can include:

• Scratches or marks to the casing
• Minor scuffs
• Signs of previous use around the edges or rear casing
• Light cosmetic wear to the screen

These cosmetic marks do not affect the operation of the tablet or the diagnostic system.

We use refurbished Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 tablets because they are extremely robust professional machines designed for demanding environments and are very well suited to automotive diagnostic work.

The tablet is Grade B refurbished. All other equipment supplied with the package is new unless specifically stated otherwise.

Tablet Substitution

Due to availability of professional refurbished equipment, we reserve the right to substitute the tablet for another unit of equal or higher specification and/or value if required.

We will never intentionally downgrade the computer specification, and the supplied software package will remain equivalent.

Diagnostic VCI Options

The exact diagnostic VCI supplied depends on the option selected when ordering.

Available options may include a DS150E-style interface, WOW Snooper or one of our upgraded Diagnostic Central interfaces depending on the current product options shown above.

24V Commercial Vehicle Use

If you intend to use the diagnostic interface on a 24V vehicle, we recommend purchasing our 24V to 12V OBD Power Supply Adapter.

Important Vehicle Coverage Information

No multi-brand diagnostic system supports every function on every vehicle.

Available functions depend on the vehicle manufacturer, model, year, engine, communication system and individual control modules fitted.
